I would like to sincerely thank the members of VFW Post 6158 for allowing me, Eric Follestad, the honor of serving as Commander for the 2025–2026 year. During this past year, we accomplished several important capital improvements and organizational updates, including installing a new roof, adding a sewer clean-out at the end of the driveway, transitioning our accounting system to Quicken Online, filing our tax returns, and paying our sales taxes. 

While these improvements are important, it is also important for all organizations that utilize our Post—including the American Legion, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries—to understand that VFW Post 6158 currently maintains approximately $60,000 in checking and savings, while our annual operating expenses are about $70,000 per year.

Moving forward, we must continue working together as a team to host successful events, dinners, and holiday parties that strengthen our Post and community. Please consider inviting friends and family to attend our gatherings and support our mission. We greatly appreciate everyone’s continued support and dedication.

Beginning in July, Gary Burns, our new Commander, will serve as your primary point of contact for concerns and questions, while I move on to quartermaster position.
